Fundraising Total Announced

Earlier this month, The Howard de Walden Estate had the pleasure of celebrating the start of the holiday season with its Marylebone Christmas Lights event.

The event transformed Marylebone High Street into a stunning festive spectacle, featuring late-night shopping, food and gift stalls, children's rides, and live music performances. This year, the occasion was marked by actor Martin Freeman switching on the lights, officially heralding the start of Christmas in Marylebone Village.

Thanks to the generous support of the local community and visitors, the event raised a remarkable total of £25,000 for the charity partner, Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. This contribution will directly support the vital work carried out by Great Ormond Street Hospital in caring for seriously ill children across the UK.

Mark Kildea, Chief Executive of The Howard de Walden Estate, commented:
“The Christmas Lights Switch-On in Marylebone Village was a moment of community celebration and joy. At The Howard de Walden Estate, we are proud to help organise this vibrant, festive event that brings together residents, visitors, and local businesses, while raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We look forward to seeing the neighbourhood shine brightly over the coming weeks.”

The Howard de Walden Estate is incredibly proud of the success of this year’s event and grateful to all those who contributed to making it such a memorable occasion. The Estate looks forward to continuing its support for the invaluable work of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and wishes the community a joyful and festive holiday season.
