Marylebone Village partners with Evelina London
The Merry Marylebone Christmas lights switch on returns on Wednesday 11 November, in support of Evelina London Children's Charity.
We are delighted that Evelina London Children’s Charity will be our charity partner for this year’s Marylebone Village Christmas Lights event.
About Evelina London
Evelina London Children’s Hospital is part of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, one of the UK’s leading NHS Foundation Trusts. Evelina London is the Trust’s specialist children’s hospital and every year, more than 104,000 children and young people experience their care.
From funding specialist equipment and pioneering approaches to creating more welcoming hospital environments and supporting families, the charity helps make an often frightening and difficult experience a little easier for children and their loved ones.
A partnership that is making a difference
Our relationship with Evelina London Children’s Charity has grown through projects focused on some of the challenges that can be overlooked in children’s healthcare.
Last year, we supported the “Bounce Back” project, which explored the use of physiotherapy in the treatment of Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) in young people. The project focused on improving access to and training of physiotherapists to ensure that young people experiencing FND receive the best possible support and treatment.
This year, our support has continued through the “Bridging the Gap” project and the development of a toolkit to help healthcare professionals recognise signs of anxiety and depression in non-verbal children.
Marylebone Village Christmas Lights event
The Marylebone Village Christmas Lights event gives us an opportunity to do more than raise funds. It gives us a platform to introduce more people to the work Evelina London does and to shine a light on the difference that specialist children’s healthcare, research and support can make.
We hope that our partnership can play a small part in that bigger picture - and we’re looking forward to bringing their work to an even wider audience through the event.
