The switching on of the Marylebone Christmas Lights on 18 November 2009 will be a festive affair. Guests can embrace the village atmosphere even further with a visit to 108 Marylebone Lane, situated on a charming corner of Marylebone Lane. The restaurant encapsulates the essence of the area by sourcing produce from local artisan suppliers. To showcase the very best of the neighbourhood, Head Chef, Norman Farquharson, features delectable ingredients from award-winning shops such as the Ginger Pig, La Fromagerie, Biggles Sausages and Rocco Chocolates.
Upon arrival, guests enter a large open-plan space, with an airy lounge and a more intimate restaurant area. The chic and contemporary three-tier restaurant combines varying sizes of interlinking dining spaces. The venue’s window lined walls and high ceilings with stainless-steel fans, give an industrial edge to the otherwise rich textured browns that furnish the room.
As one of Marylebone’s best-loved venues, the restaurant delivers great quality food with a touch of local charm, while the lounge creates a snug spot to enjoy pre-dinner cocktails.

The Royal Society of Medicine have kindly dontated a two night, weekend stay at Grade 1 Listed Chandos House
Chandos House is a beautiful Georgian Townhouse hidden in the heart of London's West End designed by the famous Architect Robert Adam in the late eighteenth century. Now owned by the Royal Society of Medicine it was the home of the Duke of Chandos and then the Austro Hungarian Embassy it has wonderful grand rooms which are perfect for weddings, receptions and parties. Indeed, the House is now available for rental from the Royal Society of Medicine for such events. In addition it has 18 individually designed bedrooms (all ensuite) providing the perfect home from home when visiting London.

Now in its third year, Art in Marylebone is taking up residence at The Marylebone Fayre. This popular exhibition of the work of 25 Marylebone Artists will run for three days from Friday 12th May, culminating on the Sunday of the Fayre. The main objective of Art in Marylebone is to encourage the appreciation of art in its many forms and to celebrate the fact that Marylebone is the one of the most exciting residential areas in London, renowned for its rich cultural history.
All art is for sale - but visitors will also be able to vote for the best artist in the show and have a chance of winning a holiday in an Italian art hotel if they do so. The most voted artist will be awarded the “Eliza” statuette in a ceremony with Peter York on Sunday afternoon.
The show will take place at 60 Paddington Street, in the theatre of the American InterContinental University. Prices range from £30 to £3000, and art comes in all shapes and sizes – oils, acrylics, prints, sculpture, photography and ties. Once again Jive Nation promise to really get the party swinging as they lead us all a merry dance. The guys are running a full program of dance classes throughout Sunday.

And under the expert tutelage of Simon Borland and his colleagues, you may be able to learn a routine in one day. Jive Nation will be offering demos and taster classes in Modern Jive, West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop and Swing. Simon says he is going to teach the whole world to dance - and what better place to start than Marylebone. Don't worry if strutting your stuff gets addictive. Move It Aside Dance Crew has now been going for 6 years and are moving at a fast and exciting pace.
They are about to take dance to a new high after being awarded funding from The Princes Trust for their project.

Born and raised in Cuba where children dance themselves out of the womb, Nelson Batista pioneered Salsa in the UK in the late 80’s. Over the past twenty years, Nelson has played an instrumental role in developing the Salsa scene across the UK without compromising the authenticity of the Cuban dance.
Although there are many good dancers in London , there are few who are also exceptional teachers. Nelson possesses the rare ability to articulate and clearly break down the most intricate of moves, and further to weave together seemingly disconnected moves into an elegant fluidity.
For the last two years, Nelson's Salsa stand at the Marylebone Summer Fayre summoned people to shake off their worries and revel in the luxury of dancing in the street, right in the middle of the West End. Not much of a Salsero? Not to worry - there will be a couple of free lessons for those who are new to Salsa dancing.

Queen’s College rugby shirts were designed by a student in Year 8. In the school’s colours, dark green and cream, they come complete with the school logo. The shirts come in one size and are very hard-wearing. A snip at £10.
In the senior college, students have the opportunity to take part in the Young Enterprise Scheme. In 2008, ‘Smack That Inc’ designed these sweat pants and arranged production in the Topshop factory. These young London hillbillies, all veterans of several signed acts, are seasoned festival & tour performers who’ve shared bills with the likes of The Charlatans, Alabama 3, Brakes, Foals, Nine Black Alps, Garth Hudson from The Band, Glenn Tilbrook from Squeeze, Danny & The Champions of the World, Findlay Brown, Dogs, Buck 65, Idlewild and many, many more.
The songs result from singer Andy Gyves regularly turning up at guitarist Dan Clark’s East London flat with tunes in his head and a whisky bottle in his hand.
With Dan contributing chords and 2 glasses, the two realised that between them they could assemble all the essential elements for songwriting.
Along with bass player Simon Julian and drummer J Hirano, they consumed more whisky and recorded an EP in Dan’s front room.
The results transplant Manchester to the Mississippi. From the boy Gyves’ distinctive vocals, you’d swear the blues was born in Burnage; that country came from Collyhurst.
The cinematic songs feature tales of outlaws facing lynch mobs, generals in bunkers, mountain explorers, bankrupt gamblers, crying lovers, and framed detainees. "It's just about slaying your demons by singing your heart out", says Dan matter-of-factly. "We get stuff off our chests and have a good time doing it".
Live, the band's shuffling rock'n'roll grooves boast all the British energy and swagger of Kasabian or the Stone Roses, uniquely fused with guitar work and harmonies that knowingly nod towards Americana greats like Little Feat, JJ Cale, Ryan Adams and Bob Dylan, proving that catchy tunes with big sing-a-long choruses can still be danceable.It’s early days yet, but with a summer of festival gigs under their belt, a rapidly multiplying nationwide fanbase and offers flying in, the future looks bright...

Come and sit down on one of our outside tables as The Providores locates to the High Street for the Marylebone Summer Fair 2010. Our head chef Cristian Hossack will be cooking with produce from the Farmers Market, serving our tasty Fusion Food, alongside our famous coffee and New Zealand wines. Our manager Sophie Uddin and co-owner Michael McGrath will be looking after you on the day, and you’ll also be able to take away delicious treats.

The Providores Outpost will be serving some of their famous brunch dishes from 10am - midday (blueberry and sweetcorn fritters with guacamole, muffins and date scones), along with chorizo risotto, watermelon, feta and strawberry salad and asparagus with yuzu mayonnaise from lunchtime. We’ll also be selling our own label NZ Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, and a new premium New Zealand beer – Steinlager Pure. Biscotti and ANZAC biscuits and Peter Gordon’s self penned cookbooks will also be available with Peter and Michael McGrath, the Providores owners, manning the stall.

The Royal Society of Medicine, who own and operate Chandos House have been a part of Marylebone for nearly 200 years. Originally set up to provide a library and opportunity for doctors to meet and debate it now welcomes over 50,000 people through its doors each year. Over 400 meetings are held each year attended by doctors, dentists, medical students and the wider healthcare team. Trinity Health Clubs has a private Personal Training and Fitness Studios in Crawford Street, Marylebone. Specialising in Power Plate and vibration training, the location in Marylebone was the first ever Power Plate studio in the UK. Furthermore, the studio has been the UK's first location for Water Crew classes using Water Rowers. Additional classes include Spinning, Pilates, Dance, Boxing and Boxercise as well as physiotherapy, massage and body treatments, and personal training, all taking place within a non-gym environment that offers a more personal service for the discrete customer.
At the fayre we will be displaying both a Power Plate and Water Rower machine and will also have one of our physiotherapists on site who will giving small massages and be on hand to talk to anyone looking for some physiotherapy. Additionally our trainers will be at the fayre to talk about training at Trinity and to give brief demonstrations of the machines and types of classes that are available at Trinty Health Clubs.

1 in 2 women in the UK will suffer from a gynaecological problem that will devastate and, in some cases, claim their lives.
Wellbeing of Women is the only UK charity dedicated to funding research that will benefit these women and their families. We also support the training and development of specialists who will diagnose and treat these women. We are located within the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and work in partnership with them.
Over the past 40 years, as Birthright and then Wellbeing, we have invested in funding the very best in medical research and training, resulting in some remarkable progress. Every woman living in the UK since 1964 will have benefited from advances in healthcare made possible by Wellbeing of Women such as ultrasound and cervical cancer screening.
Whether they have trouble conceiving, suffer intensely painful periods or gynaecological cancer, Wellbeing of Women is the only charity dedicated to solving all of these. Yet, despite our best efforts, we still receive more research grant applications than we are able to fund. - Western Marble Arch Synagogue
Western Marble Arch Synagogue is situated at 32 Great Cumberland Place. We are a traditional, modern-orthodox Jewish community based in the centre of town. Services are held daily. We welcome visitors to our Services. Our stand will be "manned" by members of the community who will be able to explain how we reach out to the community and what cultural and social events we run.
