The Coach Makers of Marylebone
Restored and re-opened on 5th April 2009
The Coach Makers of Marylebone is a quality pub. It opened its doors to the world over 140 years ago. Since then, some things have changed. Victoria and Albert are a museum and a concert hall, and their Empire has long gone. The Coach Makers is still, however, a centre of this discerning local community, serving the essentials required for a fine quality of life: oysters and stout, a great pint of real beer and the best gin and tonic in town.
The Oyster Bar on the ground floor is easy going and some respite from the hustle and bustle of Marylebone. The Gin Palace upstairs is easily the most beautiful, for those looking to impress or be impressed. The basement Speakeasy is Marylebone’s best kept secret.
The selection of drinks on offer is pretty special. We offer the finest cask ales available and probably the most considered wine list you will see in a pub. We believe we are close to finding the holy grail of the spirits world: the most perfect gin.
We are very proud to offer our food menu in all three bars. There may not be a more intriguing and diverse British menu in any other pub in London. We believe in using fresh and local produce and everything is made to order. The chef changes the menu every month to keep it seasonal and he always includes a healthy selection of organic and vegetarian options.
