Sarah Brennan YoungMinds Chief Executive said: “YoungMinds is delighted to be the nominated charity to turn on this year’s Marylebone Christmas lights. It’s a great honour and opportunity for us to meet with Marylebone’s local residents to highlight our important work with young people to improve emotional wellbeing and mental health.”
YoungMinds is the UK’s leading charity committed to improving the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people and empowering their parents and carers.
We give young people a voice, help them to develop emotional resilience, provide practical advice and support them in raising awareness about the vital importance of good mental health and campaigning for better services. Thousands of children and young people were helped this year by our range of services and our free and confidential Parents’ Helpline continues to be a lifeline for many parents worried about a child or teenagers behaviour.
There is still a huge stigma around mental health which means children and young people are not getting the support they need. Disruptive, difficult, withdrawn and disturbed kids need to be supported and not just ignored and told off. Help us to help children and young people lead happy and productive lives.
